Bulk Material Loading/Unloading

Truck

LBIS can design and provide truck loading/unloading systems that can load bulk material into a tanker truck, conditioned bulk powdered or granular material into an open-top dump truck, or unload material from tanker trucks. The system consists of a storage silo built on grade or on a support structure for drive under access, that receives bulk material pneumatically conveyed from plant recovery systems, or a pneumatic tanker truck blow-off pipe. Material is then transported to a vented retractable loadout spout. Equipment can be added to condition the material to prevent dusting during transport in open dump trucks if needed. Truck scales are utilized to measure the weight in the truck as it is being loaded. A digital indicator can show the weight, or a control system will fill the truck to the correct gross weight as programmed by the operator. An operator control booth can be installed in the silo support structure to monitor loading operations. These systems can also accommodate loading of open-top trucks from a material stockpile.

Rail Car

LBIS offers rail loading equipment that can load bulk material into rail cars. The system consists of a storage silo built on grade or on a support structure for drive under access, that receives bulk material pneumatically conveyed from the plant. Material is then transported to a retractable loadout spout using a system of air conveyors. A dust collector on the loadout spout pulls a slight draft during loadout to prevent dusting operations. Rail scales are utilized to measure the weight in the car as it is being loaded, and a control system will fill the car to the correct gross weight as programmed by the operator. An operator control booth can be installed in the silo support structure to monitor loading operations.

Barge

A dolphin-mounted tank and structure reaching out over the water loads barges with bulk material. Bulk material received from the plant’s pneumatic conveying system is fed from a surge silo into air slides leading to a positionable spout. The spout extends 50′ down into the barge and can be moved from one side to the other for balanced material loading. Similar systems can also accommodate the loading of barges from a material stockpile utilizing mechanical conveyors.
